Well I'm getting closer to an 'official' website for Evatae. I think I've settled on that for a name. I have been using it for so long that it just fits and changing it now would feel weird, so Evatae it is. But just because I have a new site up does not mean I am anywhere near done. If you take a look around you'll notice a lot of empty pages (and yes, some broken links, I know about them). I figured that if I had something more solid up online I might be more inclined to do some more work on this project.
For those of you who are familiar with my websites you might be surprised at how plain or simple this one is. I played around with some more complex designs, but in the end it is the information that is more inportant, not the graphics, so I went with a good old generic layout style. Because of the number of pages this thing is going to need the simpler the better for my own sanity.
When I do update the site I'll put up a note here on the front page with the date. I can't promise that I'll be updating every day, but I'm really hoping to at least do an update a week, we'll see. Not that there are many people checking in on this anyway and those that I've told of this site know where to find me and smack me to get working again. :)
If you've stumbled across this site by accident and for some reason want to contact me, you can email me at: webmistress@silverselene.com. You'll have to cut and paste I'm afraid. I am sick and tired of getting spam mail from people that just go out and blindly grab emails off of websites.
UPDATE 10/16/03: Not too much this time, just an image added to the Clothing gallery. It is just a sketch, it is by no means a finished image. I just felt I had to get the image down on paper.
UPDATE 10/12/03: Yes, it has been quite a while, but I've finally updated this site. I am hoping that as winter settles in and I am indoors more that I will get more writing done. The updates are in the following sections: Mortals: The Unnamed, Nations: Saezani - Architecture, Customs, Love and Marriage, and Myths and Legends, Nations: Aishoran - Customs and Society.
UPDATE 4/10/03: Two more Saezani kingdom family banners added in the gallery.
UPDATE 4/9/03: Ok, not much added, just the flag and banner for the Saezani kingdom and its royal family. It can be found on the gallery page in the banners and flags section. All the others for the noble families will be in a similar style, so I'm hoping to get a few more done in the next day or two. 6:00 pm Added the flag and banner for the Leoralla and Dionatos families as well.
UPDATE 4/7/03: So, here is the first update with the new layout. All the main topics (those listed along the top of the page) have pages though not all the links within each of those pages are working and those that are don't have much info yet. The Saezani Kingdom under Nations has the most information, as it is the nation I am currently working on. I have decided to work on one nation at a time though just because I move on to the next nation doesn't mean the one before is completely finished. I am hoping to fill out at least the basic info on each topic before I move on, so if I do have to come back and add more I'll have a good base to work from.
The graphic at the top changes only in the Nations section. Each nation has a different natural image to reflect the world in which they live. So, for the Saezani, who live in mountain halls I've put a mountain range in the image. It helps give a little idea of what kind of area each of these nations are in. However, the Falzanian page shows how their former lands looks now, though the information on the page will detail what their life was like when they were still a part of Evatae. Some of the other sections might get different graphics, but for now they'll have the main one. The reason for the tree is that I'm going to add a myth of some sort about a silver oak (tree with silvery leaves) being a tree symbolic of Eva with some really old oak still growing at some location that is considered to be a place Eva touched in creating the world anew. Anyway, when I get to that you'll read about it in Eva's section. I can't tell if that tree is actually an oak or not, but it was just so interesting in its shape, so I used it. And yes, I know, Eva is very close to Eve, first woman according to the Bible but I didn't pick it because of that. It was just a coincidence. The name Evatae came first and I decided to take the goddess' name from that. Maybe someday I'll add a page that explains some of the naming I've done but I can't say when I'll do that.
